Lionel Eli Junior Excellence Award

Presented to an outstanding graduating junior member who exemplifies excellence on and off the court.

Eligibility & Selection Criteria

Nominees must:

• Be a junior member in good standing of the club.
• Be graduating from high school during the current award year.
• Have represented the club in Junior and/or Adult league competitions.
• Serve as a positive ambassador for the club through their sportsmanship, leadership, and commitment to the tennis community.
• Consistently demonstrate outstanding character, integrity, respect, and good sportsmanship both on the tennis court and at school.
• Maintain a current Ontario Tennis Association (OTA) ranking.
• Display a strong work ethic, dedication to personal improvement, and a passion for the sport of tennis.
• Positively influence fellow players through encouragement, inclusiveness, and leadership by example.

About the Award

Named in honour of Lionel Eli, a highly respected and accomplished tennis coach, this award recognizes a graduating junior whose dedication, character, sportsmanship, and commitment to excellence reflect the values Lionel has instilled in generations of players. The recipient embodies leadership both on and off the court and serves as a positive role model within the club and the broader tennis community.
